    As i do, you always go to ring mains when you think of kitchen & loads. It's very difficult to change that mind set to radials. Only negative is the low cable run along the sink run. It's not in zone, but but i guess it can't really be avoided.

    You should check the manufacturer's instructions for the permanent supply to the heaters. Some of them specify a switched fused spur / fused connection unit, so a 1363 socket isn't really suitable (although wouldn't necessarily be immediately dangerous). No problem with them hanging off the radial/ring socket final circuit, just some manufacturers want them hard wired.

    I started as a Spark in the 90's and trust me neat fuseboards tidiness like today were not a thing, it's a FB no one sees it. Social media has this thing about showing masterpiece tidy FB's and I think Why, as long as it's not a total bird nest and it's easy to test now and the future move on.

    • @steve11211
      @steve11211 10 дней назад

      Agree, I have been to some very good looking consumer units.... Only to find the buggers have cut the damn cables short so now I need to extend half of them.. Any cable should have the length to go anywhere in the board and about 2 inches beyond... Bet none of the instagram ready boards can do that.. Just zoom in on the cpc's, they barely make it.. Now lets say for some reason you need to move the right hand rcbo to the far left of the board, that cpc will not be long enough, nor will likely the neutral or line... Give some consideration to the next guy..

    The problem you have is that they are not submersible connectors! Water will collect in the holes and seep in. We never use mains in ground light really. Not worth it. For mains voltage you really need to fill connections under ground with gel. I use similar connectors to those but always keep them of the ground!

    You’ll end up with 2 hairline cracks either side all the way up if it’s on a dry lined wall (needs a scrim tape on it to prevent cracks).

    Hi I recently put a garden lampost light in my garden. It has three lights on it and I'm using TCP ES A60 RGB & WHITE LED SMART LIGHT BULB 9W 806LM in each. And 5 meters of White 3-Core 2.5mm² Flexible Cable. Going into a block connector then three strands of Black 2-Core 0.75mm² Flexible Cable for the light fittings. Then I have it going into a three pin plug fitted with a 3amp fuse. Is this ok or do I need to do anything else. The block connector is inside the lamp pole off the ground. Thanks
